Karl and his mother, Wendy, work in a train freight station. One day, a surprise visitor arrives with a unique mission...it's Santa Claus, but it is June. In an unexpected twist, Santa plans to bestow "gifts of courage" upon exceptionally brave children.

As preparations are underway, the freight train, helmed by Wendy, encounters a breakdown. Panic sets in, but Karl steps forward, offering to take on the mission in place of his mother. Despite being accustomed to local deliveries, Karl bravely ventures into uncharted territory, facing challenges like the rustling Black Forest, the ominous Mantou Mountain, and a daunting sea-crossing bridge.

Karl is scared. Can he conquer his fear and successfully deliver the precious gifts to the children?

In the town's train depot, a small blue train named Karl works alongside his mom, Wendy. One day, a very special customer arrives — Santa Claus. Even though it’s only June, Santa is preparing Courage Gifts for especially brave children.

Just as the gifts are ready to be delivered, Wendy’s freight train breaks down. With the journey at risk, Karl bravely volunteers to take on the mission himself — his very first long-distance trip.

Along the way, Karl must pass through the whispering Black Forest, the dark Mantou Mountain, and a long bridge over the sea. Though he’s afraid, Karl carries three mysterious charms given by his mom and the station master.
